I am a Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Associate Director of the Institute for Sustainability at the University of Bath.
My research and teaching focus on measuring sustainability in design, engineering and decision making. This is essential for improving quality of life around the world while reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero.
In particular, my team and I use life cycle assessment (LCA) to measure and reduce environmental footprints. We apply this in a variety of areas including materials, construction, energy and manufacturing.
With experience in engineering, industry and Parliament, I am keen on collaboration across sectors to shape our research and to maximise its value.
